prepping for your WEDDING DAY

Waxing Do not get your brows waxed (or any facial waxing) too close to your makeup appointment. Foundation has a hard time adhering to or sitting well on freshly waxed skin. 

Topical Acne Treatments Be careful about applying topical acne treatments too close to the appointment. Topical medications use acids to peel away outer layers of skin. Your skin will be more sensitive and foundation can also have a hard time adhering to the skin.  

Steaming Dresses If possible, steam dresses prior to the wedding day. If you can't steam before the wedding day, STEAM Dresses BEFORE Hair and Makeup. DON'T Steam in the getting ready room or after hair and makeup is done. 

The Getting Ready Space

• Access Our team will need access to the getting ready room/space about 30 minutes prior to the start of hair and makeup services. 
• Temperature It’s best if the room kept on the cool side. All of the lights and hot tools heat the room up quickly. Bring a sweater and tell your bridal party to do the same. 
• Lighting  A room with as much natural light as possible is always best! However, we bring lights if this is not an option. 

Schedule We work hard to ensure everyone is ready at the appointed time! Please arrive on time and ready for your appointment.  

Clean Face Please come with a clean, moisturized face with no sunscreen. 

Clean, dry hair If possible, please wash and blow dry your hair the day before your appointment or before you get a spray tan. We have products that we like to use and if your hair is oily or full of dry shampoo, they will not work.

Cell Phones In order to maintain a schedule and properly serve clients, cell phone use is not permitted during makeup application.  (We can't apply make-up if your on your phone).  This will be a time to relax. We don’t expect you to talk if you don’t want to! So don’t feel obligated to make small talk. 🙂 To the BRIDE - have someone else in charge of your cell phone when you're getting your hair and makeup done. The day can be stressful and hectic. This will be a time to enjoy a little peace and quiet.  

Food and Drinks NO Food or Drinks in the makeup chair.  No eating during your makeup appointment.
